Cultural Center in Linz - Raum Für Kunst

Academic Project, 2019

The story begins with the urge of creating a free space for art where artists, students and the community are able to interact with each other. The project is based on three blocks and two different levels. Division is made by considering the need of space usage by different user groups for every program. The small block stands for technical part, reception, cafe, library, residency, adminstration. These programs are not connected to perform art however they are connected to actualize mechanic activities.  The large blocks stands for audiotorium, exhibition, workshops, studios and restaurant.  These programs require larger and more open space to turn into collaborative areas and to serve free spaces for creating art. Staircases are located in between of those two blocks where the circulation happens throughout the day. Visible workshop area and studios help everyone to utilize the place which leads to crafting an atmosphere that embodies the idea of innovation in arts. Visibility and transparency is achieved by crafting different levels for these two blocks. The atrium helps serving a brighter place for studios and workshops.
